You're sitting in your chambers, the rich environment a symbol of your families generations of hard work. Glancing around your room you notice the large, blue and spherical planescape of Sol. It took many separate, grueling attempts throughout the generation of your lineage. After much toil and failed attempts your great, great, grandfather happened upon something most fortunate. A ley sigil, magical phenomenon occasionally appearing in this world. Plenty of research has been poured into these, but still much is unknown on how or why they will occasionally appear. The fortunate discovery of this is what has led to your family becoming an established minor nobility in this humble village. Few are those who have mastered a branch of mystical arts, even fewer are those who survive even just becoming an apprentice of it, that sigil allowed your family to skip all the hard work.
Taking a glance out your window, your eyes are met with the rising sun over the green lands surrounding your estate. The red and orange banner slowly will become more and more bathed in the sunlight, shimmered and flowing for all to see.
It's not to go without saying though that life still hasn't gone without struggling though. Wanting to keep magical proficiency alive and well in the family, your parents have pushed you all your early and late childhood into practice.
