I want to start a /p/ monthly, or tri-monthly, photo competition where the prize is actually desirable and relevant to photography: film rolls. Of course, they’ll be cheap, readily-available film stock like Ultramax 400 or Gold 200, or whatever else is easy and inexpensive to get ahold of, but the problem is this: how shall voting stay honest, and how shall the winner’s address stay anonymous when I send him the prize? I don’t want the poll’s integrity to be compromised, nor the winner’s anonymity. Who has some ideas for how this could be set up?

There is no way for voting to be 100% cheatproof unless you use trusted judges like the long time tripfriends on here could potentially be.
Entrants use a tripcode for submission and then for the prize you just send crypto that would be the value of the prize.I've tried thinking about an honest way to have a competition on here and that's my best idea even if somewhat flawed.

The best way to do legitimate contests on 4chan is to do them off 4chan, agent

All judges and participants would have to use trip for the duration of the contest. Anonymous shipping could be doable by asking the winner to make public Amazon wishlist and hide the address, that is reasonably safe.

On Strawpoll, there is an option to set up a poll with one vote per unique code. The codes are shared by email. If no one objects to the use of strawpoll, or knows a better service, then the poll could be set up thus: everyone who wants to participate must post a photo and they must post their photo with a unique tripcode and email address. Whatever email address you want to use is up to you. Aliases for your main email seem secure enough, something like "[email protected]," or if anyone knows a good service to set up a temp or burner mail conveniently.I'd send out codes at the end of the month when entries closed.Obviously, having an email up in the thread for a month or more could be a real pain in the ass for potential spam from trolls, especially if you use an alias tied to your main email.Alternatively, the polling can be restricted to one vote per IP address. I think this would be less secure than with a unique code.PGP keys can be used to encrypt the personal info of the winner, and, as far as I know, you can collect parcels from a post office or parcel locker with an alias.I need someone to come along and take the wind from my sails, though. I don't want to put anyone's privacy at risk. Anonymity is a sacred thing. What wouldn't work with this set up?

I reckon it could work like this:
have one thread for entries, where every entry needs a tripcode.
Then collect the images in an album that ideally displays them in a random order, and have a new thread for voting where people post their top 3. Then count up how many points each image gets (1st place = 3 points, 2nd place = 2 points, 3rd place = 1 point). This way everything is transparent for everyone participating. The voting could be restricted to only the tripcodes that actually posted an entry to the competitionOf course this all relies on trusting trips but I guess there's no real way around that. Also it's hard enough to post a decent entry, let alone several

You could email them a giftcard code or maybe they could make an Amazon wishlist (I'm pretty sure that keeps the address anonymous).

Sure, but it must be called The Incel Adams Award.

I have access to a pretty wide variety of stocks for fairly cheap, would be happy to contribute if I can just send to an organizer. Can probably see about some random camera related swag too, I just don't want to deal with organizing part at all.

Bumping to say this is a really good idea. Reminds me of /m/'s gunpla groupbuilds.

There's only like ten posters in total here anyway. I don't think it needs overthinking.

I don't get the discussion about trying to stop cheating. It's completely pointless. The stakes are so fucking low there is no point to cheating in the first place. All you win is bragging rights. Doing any sort of a prize is what's dumb. Just have the contest. If some lameo votes for his own picture a million times he will know he cheated and have nothing to gain from it. The only point of winning a contest like this is to get external recognition.
