Fair weather hikers who dont live there will glaze alaska because its 'TRU wilderness!!' ignoring that its a sunless purgatory half the year, is cloudy most the time there is sun, rains often, is mosquito hell in the nicest part of the year, and is pretty inaccessable even if you live there unless you have money for air travel

I have my favourite places and biomes but the wonderful thing about being outdoors is that over time, the beauty of the world opens up to you and you can touch the sublime almost anywhere.
