Since the resident lodophobe and slopposter is so easily and strongly triggered by high quality german wool fabrics, this is now a LODEN thread. Roughstuff comeback appears to be successful. After petromax had discontinued their original designs, they revived the company with an updated version of their light loden jacket. Now they are branching out into even lighter wool jackets, made of wool/polyamide blend. Is it loden in the strictest sense? Who knows... but it is a proven blend, perfect for a light summer jacket. Winter jackets are in the pipeline.

Are you a lodophobe? Does the existence of germany and german wool fabrics cause you incontrollable anxiety, anger and confusion? FEAR NOT! May I present you: English broadcloth! Exactly the same thing as loden, but from ENGLISH wool shorn from ENGLISH sheep woven and felted in ENGLAND by ENGLISH hands (ok, some of them might be indian). Never again will you be troubled by traditional wool fabrics. Never again will you make a fool of yourself, posting AI slop on tibetan basket weaving forums. From now on, english broadcloth can cover all your wool outerwear needs. Buy english broadcloth today! (Minor surcharges on account of our luxury fashion focus may apply.)

Sweaty smelly loden>https://vocaroo.com/1cl4tHopoxZ5Verse 1 In a darkened Bavarian basement flat, Three hundred kilos of porker ugly and fat, Never seen a trail, never felt the air, But the wardrobe’s stuffed with loden everywhere. Heavy green jackets still stiff on the rack, Hats and trousers stacked in a dusty stack, He scrolls the forums every single night, Buying more loden he’ll never wear outside. Chorus Consooming loden gear, consooming loden gear, Never leaves the chair but the closet’s full of fear. Sweaty smelly loden, he defends it with a roar, “It’s traditional, it’s pure, it’s better than your soft whore!” Verse 2 “Swanndri? Too delicate, it pills and fades! Ventile? Soft and weak, for city maids! My loden jacket reeks of old sweat and grease, But that’s the real alpine character, if you please!” He sniffs the collar like a treasured prize, Posts long rants about “true German wool, you guys,” Compares it daily to every finer cloth, While the actual mountains stay forever off. Chorus Consooming loden gear, consooming loden gear, Never leaves the chair but the closet’s full of fear. Sweaty smelly loden, he defends it with a roar, “It’s traditional, it’s pure, it’s better than your soft whore!” Bridge “You fancy wool-lovers with your clean refined lies, My loden holds the stink of a thousand years dead Reich! It’s dense, it’s heavy, it's never seen the sun, Just like me — I bought the gear, the work is done.” Final Chorus Consooming loden gear, consooming loden gear, Morbidly obsessed but the trail stays far from here. Sweaty smelly loden, forever on the throne, Comparing every finer wool… from the comfort of his home.

Btw. tons of people wear and like surplus swedish army wool jackets. The reproductions are possibly of lower quality, but the fit would often be comparable. Personally I would prefer not to all out wear nazi uniforms, but if you're somewhere else you might be ok with it.
