What makes me nervous is that I've been bitten by many a New English tick and often don't find them for a day or so and never got a bullseye rash but have been staggering around with Lyme-like symptoms for years :\

Guys it's not that hard, go out in shorts and be white and every 5 minutes give your legs a quick look over. I can usually feel it when they're biting anywa.

Lyme seroprevalence in EU forestry workers: 15-22% (Belgium, France)Of those seropositive, asymptomatic rates ran ~45-90% depending on study/definitionBig systematic review (61 studies, 22 EU countries): ~50% asymptomatic overall — flagged as a real data gap, most seroprevalence studies don't track this wellUS Lyme vaccine trial: 7-11% seroconverted asymptomatically (not EU, often cited alongside)Belgium's self-reported symptom numbers are noisy — most people who claimed Lyme history weren't even seropositive>TLDR: roughly half of Lyme infections in Europe never show symptoms, going by the best available data.

I've caught 6 ticks on my body this season before they had the opportunity to bite. Skill issue really.

I hate these little niggers like you wouldn't believe. How do we not have an organic compound commercially available to apply to our skin and clothes to make ourselves unappetizing to these faggots? Are we retarded? There has to be something these woodland chiggers hate. Lavender? Wood ash? Someone needs to do some experiments.

This shit stops me for wanting to go camping. I know a few people with Lyme disease, and it completely destroyed their lives.

Fucking hate ticks. I had 52 babies in me one time. Took my gf a whole day to remove them. I'd sat on a nursery. I've had about 15 other adults in me. 3 of them in my scrotum. One was in my arse crack and I was single at the time so had to squat over a mirror to get the fucker out. Not a pretty sight.

I've now been in tick heavy pnw for a couple years, and while I remain scared and disgusted by them, it isnt all as bad as I thought. You learn which plant communities will have them in what season. I just look down after a section of trail I know had some and flick the ones on my pants off. Havent had a bite in over a year
