Since the Pacific Plate boundary is transferring from the San Andreas fault (which is locked) the the Walker Lane shear zone, why would there be any more large big ones in the LA area any more? It seesm the 'big ones' will now be east of the Sierra Nevadas. And what was the reason for the crazy earthquake swarm in Reno Nevada area some years ago? It was like science fiction earthquake machine type stuff?
