Do you guys have any recommendations for campers? Now that I have 3 kids tents are ass. I've been looking at pop up campers since I have a van, but I feel like the big booms reselling in my area are delusional.

Sounds like they have sunken cost thinking. They bought in high and now the bottom is falling out of the market.
I would say buy used, from a large RV seller/reseller who doesn't have the emotional debt tied to the trailer.

Just buy another/bigger tent and one of those little mesh screen houses. Campers suck IMO. They don't really feel like being out in nature, feels like being in a tiny little shack. It's not worth the extra hassle involved in having to actually drive the thing everywhere. The pop up ones take just as much effort to set up as a tent anyway, and the non popup ones will absolutely kill your gas mileage. I mean either way it takes a big hit. Calculate your fuel costs for any trips you are likely to do, then add a third to do it with a camper. If you are doing long trips with a not that fuel efficient vehicle to start with, you will find the cost is actually quite substantial. On a trip across the country for example, you can easily add several hundred dollars just in increased fuel costs.

There's some boomer near me trying to sell one with a roof leak and water damage for nearly a hundred grand over retail for a new one. He's had it up for 6 years, hasn't fixed the leak, and whenever he hires someone to clean it he raises the price because he's "adding value"

Coleman makes some small campers (one has a full bed and 2 bunks) for around 10k. Sounds right up your alley.

Weight
Sleeping space
Do you want a bathroom/kitchen setup inside
How often do you hope to use it, what seasons
Do you need aircon and a heater
What are you doing for storage, keeping stuff in your vehicle or packing into the trailer
Where are you going to store it when not using it
Is it worth all this versus getting a bigger tentI've gone from a tent to larger tent to teardrop trailer to small fiberglass trailer

be creative. the most obvious camp sites along the road will be the most crowded ones, there will be locals having a bbq there or other tourists. go further into the mountains.
