You'd think after 13 seasons someone would've been devoured by wolverines or mauled by a bear or fallen into the water and turned into a contestantcicle by now. Every season has some crazy dangerous moments, I'm genuinely surprised there've been no deaths, particularly with some of the retards they recruit. Maybe there has and they've carefully edited those people out.

I find it quite insufferable how many of the competitors always go: >Oh, I am so blessed.. Thank you, thank you.. Thankfulness and gratitude should not be expressed in such a situation as it implies the averse too: why not then curse the world if you miss that shot or don't catch anything? That sort of "conditional gratitude" has me extremely peeved, even though, of course, it's just people venting out their adrenaline and happiness in a way that makes them feel good.Actually, another fucking peeve I have is how so few of them actually take the competition seriously: why, fucking WHY wouldn't you go in fat as fuck? There should be a distinct difference between the person in the video applying and the guy on day 1. It's been 12 seasons and we know that having fat reserves is a good fucking advantage as you'll shed the weight anyway. I can't take these people seriously going all >Yeah, I'm in it to win it, I'm taking this 110% seriously, I've done my research, I feel ready..!When clearly they're just ego tripping, not wanting to take the easiest advantages because they're tough boys that don't need no fat (but will drop out because being alone is lonely or because medical check says they're a walking skeleton).

I went to reddit because I wanted to see what they thought of Jacks, since her overly dramatic crying seems like the type of thing redditors would eat up. Like 75% of them think she's so strong and brave and inspiring and shit, but about 25% think she's as cringe and whiny as we do.But, what I found is that she's a redditor lol. Are the latest seasons any good? I started watching the show because I caught it on TV, it was an Alaska season, the one where Roland endured 100 days and I really liked it, and every contestant was great. Now I'm watching an Australia season and half of the episode is people talking about their personal life and issues, which personally I don't give a fuck, and the other half either doing nothing, trying to fish or just sitting around. I wish they focused more on the survival aspect and I'd really like to see the 10 items each on of them carry.

Now that the dust has settled, what did /out/ think? Honestly I don't know if I'll watch another season. It's playing too much on the drama now. And there's nothing new. At least last season had a new location with new challenges. I think if you had better contestants last season who were more prepared, another Africa season would be good. The fact that the season only lasted 30 days is a good sign that it's a good environment for a survival show, give that a couple more seasons and let contestants develop better strategies.But if they go back to the Arctic or near Arctic yet again? What's the point? We didn't see anything this season that we didn't already see in previous seasons.
