I hate AT Thru Hiker culture. My job in the outdoor industry lets me deal with a lot of thru hikers. I might even make a thread about this.>full of spoiled brats who dance around with their durstons and EE quilts that daddy paid for

They create these false identities for themselves with shitty trail names that they pick themselves, and then get to live out that persons life, and then get depressed and full of cognitive dissonance when they're off the trail. I hate thru-hikers. I hate trail names. I hate "tramilies". The trail should just be paved at this point considering how fucking commercialized it is. Is it still an achievement if you stay in a hotel most nights, get peak refuel and mountain house meals shipped to you on a regular basis, and ride in a car for a significant portion of it, all while being funded by daddy's money?
