>need you don't need it, only a retard would say you "need" itbut do you -want- it? do you want a mini saw blade, scissors, bottle / can opener, an awl, tweezers, etc? if you want that but don't wanna carry a box will all that in it, then yeah, you use thatthis is something that was learned back in the roman times, its not something to argue with, it simply -is-

A full tang knife can be used for battoning, if you're into that kind of thing. Is a Huntsman better than a Leatherman Wave?

I remember when my dad needed to cut some cord and the scissors he got couldn't cut through it cleanly. I pulled out my SAK and he laughed, saying the small scissors wouldn't be any better, and cut through it like butter.

I have a climber that's in my pocket 99% of the time it's pretty cool. If you're only doing light trips a victorinox is fine

I'll stick with my compact. Until they put scisors and a pen on a ranger grip, the compact has the most versatile tool set imo.

The tweezers suck and the toothpick is gross. Take the alox pill.

It's true, you don't. I dual carry a Deluxe Tinker and a Camper for a balanced set of tools, plus 4 knives instead of 2 is nice. If I know ahead of time that I'm gonna be processing firewood, I'll bring a hatchet.

How are you going to defend yourself against a dogman or bear with that little shit?

i was looking at the pocket knives i own and the cheapest one i own (10$, 7cr17mov) is a better quality steel than another 50$ (3cr13) one i own. i was thinking about getting a leatherman wave (420hc) and the steel on it isnt even noticeably better than the 10$ 7cr17. i am baffled

As the stereotypical boyscout who carried that type of knife pretty much daily for a good decade ... it's because "swiss army knves" are a meme, or a toy for children. You can't safely do any task that requires any force with a knofe without a locking blade. If you actually want to get real work done you need a leatherman or quality leatherman-like multitool.

And if you do want to gut an animal you can take one of the larger ones too.

Breaking down wood for a shelter or fire If you're into foraging like me you'd want a good hori hori for deep taproots like chicory and dandelion Breaking down an animal like you said is a great reason to have one. Breaking down thicc vegetation like bambooIt really all depends on what you're out there to do. If you're just hiking or basic camping then yea, op image is a good choice. They're just good to have on you in general.
