I am thinking of trying to hypermile my shitbox to try and go 600 miles on a single tank (10.5 gallons or 40 liters)
I managed to get it to show 59mpg (4l/100km) when driving 50-55mph, since then I checked the actual consumption and the computer is showing 5% more than it actually uses
so techically I should be able to do 600 miles on a single 10.5 gallon tank
but the problem is I am yuropoor, so that would mean driving from one border of my country to the opposite one, and then back to do the actual mileage lol
and I think I will have to do it in the winter because I wont need A/C and techically colder outside air will improve efficiency
has anyone done such a challange/test/whatever? it seems like it would be fun, if not time consuming lol

heres the shitboxa badge engineered to hell little thing that weights under 2000lb or 900kg with a massive 1 liter producing 69 (nice)it absolutely chills at 50mph, and the seat is comfy and the whole driving position is adjustable, so I think it will be bearable

no? Denser air means more fuel will have to be injected into the cylinder to achieve a desired air-fuel ratio.also summer tyres roll more easily and it's more likely that it will be dry in the summer which further cuts down on fuel consumption

Remove power steering
Remove the rear seats
Remove sound deadening
Stay in 5th as long as you can
Don't turn AC on

Tried it casually for a few months and saved about 10% in fuel use. I used a site called ecomodder.com for tips. My Suzuki is pretty economical, and I don't do many kms, so I don't concern myself with the cost of fuel

I’ve seen like over a dozen truggers start hypermiling where I live.
Most were diesel.
There were also some moments where EVs would zip past them almost mockingly.

Highway speed makes a huge fuckin diff.I just did a highway drive with 10% dirt road at the end and back for an hour in my maverick, got 5.3L/100km / 44mpg from 2hrs of driving.That was cruise control going 55mph of the way with the limit going to 60mph in some spots. 70mph limit will make it drop to like 39mpg and 75mph will make it drop to 37mpg, yet if you go 55mph you'll get 45mpg pretty easy.A good trick I've learned is setting cruise control to 5mph under the limit, letting your foot off the pedal to do 5mph under the limit going up the hill, and then glide downhill to 5mph above the limit with natural momentum and run it off back to the speed limit before you give it gas again. Riding hills is very important, but I mainly do this fuckery when alone in traffic and otherwise just run the speed limit so everyone passes me, I only do the 5mph over everyone else does when there's no passing lane.

Might find some tricks there.
As other anon mentioned, speed also plays part in the fuel consumption.

putting less fuel in the car also increases fuel efficiency because the car weighs less
