They finally did the 10+ year old meme. I never understood why they never did it. Simply put a generator on a car built in.
How the actual fuck did it take until almost 2027 to do this. HOW FUCKING STUPID ARE HUMANS?
It really boggles the mind. ai can't come save us from ourselves soon enuf

i guess the main problem was human insisting to be 100% electric so they could pretend they were green

I always thought electric cars were cool but never understood the insistence of 100% electric and hybrid seems dumb too.Generators always seems logical to me.

BMW i3 REX did this 10 years ago. The driveline is shit and batteries are dropping so fast in price anyways. Keep up tourist.

I'm sick of the journalism bullshit term "range anxiety" as if a car buyer is insecure about their penis or something and it's not the evs across the board have at best 60% of the range of an equivalent gas model in perfect conditions.
If I can't comfortably make it to my destination on one full charge an EV requires me to pay for a hotel room whereas the gas car takes 5 minutes to get back on the road

So, they are turning EVs into hybrids basically? lol

It's not a new idea. China already has tons of range extended evs.

Isn't this what Nissan's e-Power deal is all about?

Like with most things in the EV world, Alan Cocconi perfected this in the 90s only for it to be thrown away until some auto manufacturer "invents" it again 30 years later (see also vehicle to grid). I also have blueprints for a series hybrid from the 1970s. This is old hat, especially if you consider the Volt could reasonably be called a series hybrid, news is just being retarded as usual.
