I want to buy an EV for work commute and daily. Small family, range not that important and I can charge at home. Now I'm leasing a Model Y and it's kinda good for the price. No issues so far, UI is good, drives well except the steering. Next one is a buy, not a lease. Some I'm interested in.. which one would you recommend?:
>BMW i3 2026 (looks nice, drives well for sure but a bit more expensive)
>Tesla Model Y (new gen, upgrade to current one)
>Nissan Leaf (design a bit quirky but it's growing on me)
>Toyota BZ4X Touring
>MAZDA CX‑6e

Not much to recommend, but I'd suggest taking two off your list; the BZ4X is a genuine turd, and the CX-6e is a sister of the Deepal S07.

All these particular options are absolute trash. There are much better EVs sold in both US and Europe.

Get the Polestar 2. Used ones can be had for bargain now and no other EV drives as well as the PS2 with excellent reliability and cheap service. Google infotainment beats all.

Subaru also has a whole range of EVs which are apparently based off of Toyota platforms, but offering different feature packages. You should look into those as well.I assume you are looking to buy new, but I would not recommend you buy a Volvo EX30, new or used, mostly because they have discontinued the model in the US but also because they went cheap on many aspects of the car.

Tesla is the only good one on your list.

I Like the tesla cruise control/autosteer. You have to put up with a lot of bullshit with the car though. The obnoxious minimalism is just terrible cost cutting.Unfortunately, everyone else has a worse infotainment system and dogshit UI. People cope with android auto.

BMW nickel and dime you for every small thing you want to add to your car. I fucking hate German brands for doing that.

I like the leaf. I would consider the subaru uncharted, but it looks like they fucked up some things on the software side that I'm gonna wait to see if they address. Toyota has a version of the same car might be better, c-hr I think. Ioniq 5 is good but they still haven't fixed the ICCU issues as far as I'm aware so I wouldn't buy one. Chevy bolt is not a bad option if you don't care about the lack of carplay/AA.
