I wouldn't say better cars but definitely less expensive cars. They won't last as long as Japanese cars but they're much cheaper and have better EV tech. China is taking over the low end of yet another industry. Europe happens to be the main victim this time. VW and their union have already agreed to cut 100k jobs by 2030. Trump has done something right by keeping these junkers off American roads.

chong cars aren't winning because they're better than US and European cars, they're winning because they are a decently comfortable ride (from what i experienced taking BYD cabs several times), come packed with loads of tech shit that makes the inside seem more expensive than it actually is, are pretty cheap and don't come with the same kind of social baggage attached to them that legacy budget brands like Dacia, KIA or Hyundai do.Give it like 10-15 more years and they'll be viewed more or less the same as gook cars in the early 2010's

Chinese cars are good and will conquer the world.Like their phones did.Sure its not maybe great resale value.But performance / money is unbeatable.It only takes a while for public opinion to change.I still have my first Xiaomi and it still works (2018). Was much better user experience than the iphone I got after it (never had iphone before so wanted to try).
