Can you just throw any muffler under a car?
my car has ripped 2 mufflers, just a poorly designed exhaust by ford imo
Currently have it straight piped but the droning is just too much at cruising speedsits a n/a 100bhp engine, so not a performance engine, i cant imagine the pressure in the exhaust being extreme enough to warrant a special spec muffler

It's been a while since I started this car (porsche 951) but I can't remember -- I assume no, but would you expect the headlights to dim or turn off completely when you try to start the car? Engine won't turn over, I don't think I hear the starter, so either I reattached the starter wrong or there is some other short or draw to where the accessories and headlights etc work until I try to start it, and then it ... doesn't lolI should mention also that the battery is new, although I guess it could be dead; battery tender reports it at 14 V though.What should I do to diagnose?

I put in new D2S xenon bulbs because mine were flickering and honestly the new ones kinda suck in the dark.
I feel like I'm driving with two flashlights stuck to my car. It doesn't "spread" out properly and I think it's too blue even though I got the 4300k white ones.Did I cheap out too much on bulbs? They get really expensive so I went aftermarket. Don't know why it would be so different.

fuck's sake. my 2018 camry now keeps giving these stupid warnings for the lane keep assist, brake warning assist blah blah blah not working because the front sensor's plastic cover has been UV damaged to shit. The car drives completely fine otherwise but the warnings keep popping up if you try to press the back button on the steering wheel, I don't even use that shit anyway.
Which fuse was it again to clear the check engine light/codes?

I’m working on a 2007 Lexus.
I’m tightening the idler pulley to 40ft lbs, per the manual.
It ceases to spin freely, as does another pulley I torqued to specifications.
Is this supposed to be this tight, to the point it doesn’t spin by hand?

how worried should i be about my engine temp spiking to a little higher than 3/4 every other day? i changed my coolant (for the first time ever and it was it really good shape) and the thermostat (hasn't been changed ever in 200k+ miles). what would be causing this? bad radiator fan? clogged radiator?

my car keeps making this intermittent clunking noise from the front but i can't figure out what it is. i put it up on jackstands and checked everything but there's no play in anything suspension related and besides the noise it seems to drive completely fine
if i push down on the top of the strut i can hear and feel a knocking so i figured the strut is fucked and ordered a new set but the noise only happens on flat smooth ground which i dont understand at all
like if the strut was fucked wouldn't it make a ton of noise when it hits a bump? it doesnt so i'm confused

Need new tires for my camaro, are potenza re980 a/s plus any good? I live in the southwest so rain is a non issue and snow is practically non existent. Also looking at general gmax rs, they'll go for about the same price after rebate and their performance and lifetime specs are pretty comparable aside from treadwear rating (360 general vs 500 potenza) and mpg rating (2.5/5 general vs 1/5 potenza).
