They’re pretty reliable. Though on startups mine has this ticking that eventually goes away as it warms up. Not sure what that’s all about, but I’m sure it’s fine. Think I’ll buy an old Toyota if I ever sell it. Or maybe a Cummins. Idk.

Beside that it's ok, about on par with gm tier reliability, like the other anon said I'd pony up into a half or three quarter ton with the biggest gasser for cheap. Fuck diesels lol have fun going to the dealer everytime to get the cab lifted off for *anything*

The 5.7 hemi is a decent engine, people are scared of the roller bearings going out leading to valve train destruction. Worse if you keep driving and ignore it leading to a new engine. However 3k mile OCI, with 5w20 or 5w30 quality synthetic with decent molybdenum content you'll see 200k-300k most times out of 10.
Spark plug changes are a pain, but some people run copper and just change em out at 30-60k miles (apply anti-seize!). pre dt body style the exhaust manifold bolts like to go, you can machine the warped stock headers, or replace to shorty style headers usually not have that problem again, dt body 5th gen 2019+ like to just crack the headers in half..
Decent trucks, I'd rank it just below a 2.7l F150, but above the Chevy 5.3.

My first Dodge was a 2nd gen 1500 with the 5.9 Magnum and it wasn’t a bad truck. Was new enough at the time that the dash hadn’t yet cracked. Replaced it with a 2500 when the Hemi came out, eventually replaced that truck with another 2500 with the then new 5.9 Cummins common rail. Traded that in on a brand new 4th gen 1500 Hemi, traded that truck in on a 2013 2500 when they came out with the HO Cummins making 800ft.lbs of torque and finally traded that in on 2016 3500 with the Cummins and Aisin that I still have today. I get the hate, but the one thing owning these trucks has proven, you maintain your shit and don’t beat on them, they’ll last just fine.
