Pretty much my plan going forward. Restomods or kit cars from here on out. I would love an econobox kit car, tube chassis, manual windows/doors/seats, basic n/a 4banger with 6mt. Like if Ultima came out with their version of a 92 Civic or whatever.

This is actually the way forward. The average person is just going to buy EV/hybrid appliances and enthusiasts are going to build kit cars of whatever appeals to them. Most of the really popular platforms already have enough aftermarket support that you could build one from scratch.
