I haven't ridden a motorcycle for over 16 years now but took some refresher classes (5x 45mins) on an SV650 over the last 2 weeks.On the one hand I'm really excited because I'm looking to buy a bike after so long, on the other hand I have this vague fear in the back of my head, about crashing the bike during my test drive.
I'm no adrenaline junkie by any means and have driven cars daily for almost exactly 20 years now, but still...A 4 cylinder engine is supposed to be more gentle and controlled than a 2 cylinder, right?

Are ducatis super expensive to maintain? I'm debating between one of these and the hypermotard 950 since it's one of the last trellis frame ducatis. There's about a $5k price delta, the ducati being 15.9k msrp vs 20 and some for the bmw. But I've heard servicing on a ducati is an arm and a leg. BMW gives you the first service free and one extra year of warranty.
