Chinks and Arabs love their unusable touchshit. To them, it's futuristic. Luxurious even. Practicality is outdated.
They have very low standards when it comes to actually driving cars, so the obvious compromises do not matter.

Still rockin my Sony XAV AX100 from 10 years ago because it has a nice clicky volume knob. My car is old and too bumpy to be able to navigate touch screen volume while in motion. And volume up/down buttons are gay.

knobs are coming back in style, but they were rare from 2019 to 2023 because tesla made only having a touchscreen seem futuristic and since you were going to have a screen anyway, removing everything but it saved on manufacturing costs.

Having both everything in the screen AND physical buttons is the superior design choice car manufacturers should choose because is redundant. Knob broke? Just use the touch screen until you fix it. Touch screen broke? Doesn't matter, just use the buttons.It's just like the superiority of having a plug in hybrid. Some ICE component broke? Just drive in 100% electric mode until you fix it.

i hate my unit so much its fucking unreal and would literally just prefer an aux port and a volume knob. in general ive come to just hate my dashboard.

its literally safer for me to use my phone while driving than attempting to use this piece of shit because at least with it being responsive, i can get 95% of the way to where i want to be without looking at the screen from muscle memory. i rarely actually interact with my phone while driving and have since made it even less with an mp3 player, aux, and a couple of sd cards, but holy fuck ive never had a car that the radio/dash feels so antagonistic towards the diver.
