wiring up a windshield washer switch, i want the wipers to have a delay action when they run so the washers will spray water as soon as the switch is pressed, then a second later the wipers will activate then stay on for a certain amount of time after the switch is released, what electrical components could do this? is there such a thing as a 12v time delayed relay or something?

I tried getting the shocks off my Grand Marquis with regular tools and vice grips and also a specialized shock nut removal tool but they're too corroded and I need to cut the studs/nutswhat should I use for this? I'm not sure if an angle grinder will fit into the space needed

>stall because i dont know how to drive a non-synchro manual
>start up again, stall again
>attempt to start up again- nothing
>check fuse; replace fuse
>tell buddy who's been helping me with my progress. he mentions to check the lights.

What do I do when I took out a shock absorber and the old mounting hardware doesn't quite match up to what came with the new one?picrel is how the old shock was mounted up from what I can tell after I took it out, it has 3 washers used, and there was no washer on top of the lower bushing, I looked to see if one fell but I didn't see anything.The new shock looks like the right part but the mounting hardware came with 2 bushings and 2 washers, not 3. It came with two nuts, so I assume one is a spare, but it also came with two spacer looking things that seem like they could slip over the stud and I don't know if I need to use them.what do

so here i am! happy to have a safety fuse installed or it couldve caused a fire.
for those who dont know the fuel tank is right next to the windshield, in front of the instrument panel. i found it because i was going to monitor the ammeter to see if anything is going on. i went to tap it (why? same reason i click my tongs i guess) and noticed it was hot.
removed the instrument panel to find these bits.thanks for reading my blog. i'm just so thrilled to have found all the major bugs.
i simply removed the ammeter, connected the wires together and wrapped it in electrical tape, turned the keys and hit the start button and she started right up.
ran her for a few minutes to see what happened, nothing out of the ordinary.
the tape stayed nice and cool for about 10 minutes.
deciding it was safe- i took her out for my first drive ever.

my lemans wouldn't start, there wasn't any fuel in the filter so I popped the line off, no fuel out of the fuel pump. I took the other side off and couldn't suck anything so I thought the sock was plugged. dropped the tank to discover it's empty.

I have a pioneer radio from 89ish, it doesnt have constant power wire, only ignition, though the memory function for FM worked until recentlyI know there is a button battery soldered in, i dont know the function but i know it exists because i took apart a similar model onceDid they use the battery for memory functions before the constant power was common?

Drove firebird down the street, shifts good, stops ok, steering was funky because it was massively toed out. After all that, i hope my weekend in Tuscon at the duct tape drags is uneventful and that i can finally get a rest from this fucking project

And firebird already left me stranded. The brake light switch got stuck on and drained the battery. I had the window shop jump it and drove down the street to fill the gas and it didn't have enough juice to start it again. I played myself

anyone know where to find a wide variety of cable ends? im trying to shorten a clutch cable a bit, and it has a stop on one end that looks like a washer stud, all i can find off of hardware sites like mcmaster car are ball stud ends. i can go get another clutch cable with the exact same end, so i know they're available somewhere. any ideas?
