So I just rode the thing a total of 30 miles today, and here are my observations It's slow, but it's not that slow, you just need to push it to 7th gear and haul ass and you can get her to 20mph sustained if its a flat smooth road The biggest limiting factor really is the seat position, however, I think a big part of this is that you're using muscles that you're not used to using, you still get full leg extension on these things so you can maximize the leverage you have available to you as far as muscles go but you're not going to get as much help with gravity, it's basically all muscle moving this thing Hills are fine, throw her into a low gear and keep a steady pace and you'll be fine Seat is surprisingly comfy, normally I start getting sore ass after about 15 miles but my ass took this seat like a champ I think people like these the same way people like Bromptons, they're not fast, but they're different and solidly built for basic commuter shit

I can tell you here (poorville) the most popular bike is the cheapest at wallyworld at any given time (was a granite peak every year, till that blue huffy). So unless it's pacific cycle not popping out 10 barely different variety packs, best selling is misleading. So what percentage? 3%?

cruisers are meant to cruise around town. the seating position is so you can put your feet flat on the ground at red lights. seems silly to most of us here but if it helps casual riders feel more comfortable on the road then cool. I support anything that gets more asses on bikes out there (even e-faggotry as long as they stay legal and don't do retarded shit)

I have something similar I use for my mom so she can strengthen her core and mobility. The appeal of this style of bike is that you can put all yout weight on the saddle and have one foot flat when getting on and off the bike. People that dont cycle all the time or haven't done it in decades will want to be able to get on and off the bike comfortably and will just sit on the saddle like its a seat. Also the 1x with twist shifters is easy to figure out.

I just saw one in the wild. Its not the vw bettle of bikes like it should be. Its sorta charming though. I suppose its better than that hyper generic blue huffy or a granite peak. Seating position (and thus weight distribution) is ever bikes biggest flaw. I think its a conspiracy to sell tires.

as ugly as they are they are probably more appropriate to how norms use bikes than almost anything else. The downside is fewer actually decent bikes to get ridden once and become the "barn finds" of 30 years from now, when bikes are made from a custom lab-grown plant cellulose lattice that degrades in UV and can have immune issues with particular riders (both directions)

ok serious post. Cruisers are awesome but they are very rarely presented in their best form, since le serious riders disdain them. In ancient days chads like velocio rode cruiser-like bikes heroic distances, and first-gen mountain bikes are chill as fuck but barely lasted because they're bad at climbing. but a no-nonsense cruiser with good parts and quality can be a beautiful thing. townie type shit is frustrating because it's not that but it is built to suit its market which it does. To buy one brand new you'd have to be insane
