Slipknot is odd, I was a teenager during their peak era when every other kid would wear their shirts and get tattoos and stuff. I liked them, but I never loved them as much as I and I imagine others were pretending to. Slipknot's appeal was ironically how inoffensive and accessible most of their catalogue was. It seemed like they were the only band at the time that everyone was just okay with, you could put them on without any complaint. Good social 6/10 music. They've aged well compared with other bands of the era, there were other bands at the time hailed in higher regard that have aged like shit. Slipknot was doing something unique and their music was well produced. They're like the metal version of RHCP, always on but you never hear people really passionate about a certain songThe new single drama is so funny because it sounds exactly like any other Slipknot song but the fans are in a total meltdown as if it's radically different (it's not).
