First of all fuck you twibooru. I had typed up a whole ass thing for the forums, only for it to not work when you hit submit and to delete your whole post. My Dear slim letter for twibooru Hey code monkies. The site has a few advantages over derpi, mainly the humanized and eqg loli content being allowed. And the way the api works, being much more generous. However I have noticed that there is a long delay between uploads on derpi and this site. I had switched to exclusively using twibooru as a hub due to its lack of rules on uploads. Not because i enjoy all the art, far from it. But I like to personally collect all art of value from the fandom for my own archive by hand. That said, these delays have gotten so bad I will switch back to derpi with twi as a secondary. I hope that doesn't come off as me saying "I'm leaving 5ever please care!!!" Because I'm not. This site is very important to the fandom. I just want to share some potential places that could be improved that would make the site number one for me. It is possible I am misinformed or incorrect. These are my observations using twi everyday, multiple times a day, for the past few months. >inb4 reddit spacing1. About -10x the load speeds of derpi. The loading of pages, full images and videos are extremely long when compared to derpi.2. Slow sync rate with derpi. Art posted on derpi will sometimes take hours to propagate. This may be due to their api limitations, and I would never suggest ways around that, that could potentially sour relations... but I mean if you did-3. When sync is done, it is done in place. This has annoyed me to no end. I will not accept that "it's not true" for this one. I have gone back so many times feeling I was crazy, racking my brain against this. But when the sync is done the images synced arent placed as the newest. But they go into the database at the time they *would* have been there, had the sync been 1 to 1. This means people like me who browse the newest page every 2 hours or so , will miss tons of art. And need to go back.4. The culture. Yeah I know this is going to be the most polarizing becuase of the word choice. But say whatever you want about derpi. You're probably right. But the culture here compared to derpi is abysmal, in terms of promoting tagging and ratings. The tags are terrible, almost non existent. Because they poll derpi only once, they never get the updated tags from autistic taggers. Ratings are so few that people who simply don't like a fetish, and refuse to use filters or even the hide button, will neg rep good art. At current this makes it even harder to back track for missed art. As I often rely on the top scoring, and set the date for week. This is the hardest to change. You need to break from derpi, from just being a clone. And offer better tagging and accessibility to rate. Derpi has the numbers, and polish you don't. You need to change and be different to cater to your audience to promote the actions you value.

My piece of advice for Twibooru owner (whoever he is or will be): 1) Good job on setting up simple git server, but that's not enough on the long run. Setup a proper git forge with tickets, pull request support, etc. Like gitlab or something. Also actually put a normal link to it in "Source Code" page, ffs. 2) Containerize the repo for dev builds (frontend, backend, posgresql, elastic/opensearch, etc). Current "environment is whatever I have at the moment, good luck" setup is completely unsustainable for team play. Ideally there would be no need for documentation, but include it anyway. 3) Accept pull-requests from non-staff. Three simple steps to have as much contributors as Philomena.
