I know you’re eager to fly, but this takes time. Don’t rush it. “I want to fly now.” >Fluttershy slowly rubs the dirt out of your hooves with the gentleness only she can do. >”It’ll happen. Don’t worry about being a late bloomer.” >Living the human dream of flying is so tempting. >So close, yet so far. >Fluttershy licks her cheek, then starts working on your messy feathers. >Waxy saliva straightens out the feathers. >Dash goes up and down your body until she’s at your undercarriage. >Tense a bit as she touches that. >”Calm down.” >Don’t pop a boner, you’re too young for that. >Massages continue until you are fresh and clean. >Dash takes a look at the rag and throws it across the room. >You grab another rag. “Who’s next?” >”Your mom will love it if you take care of her. [/mlp/thread/43430750#p43494883] Well, what was the last action on diamond's part which made you root for her?She's got a large hill to climb, but that's identical to saying she's a bad choice at the moment. While she was forced to show the slightest shred of humanity recently, she instantly paid for it socially and so we can't really expect her to just drop her guard and let all the other foals tear her apart like they have shown they will do. Being actually vulnerable at this point requires that she either render her heart ironclad by cultivating wisdom so that she doesn't care how ponies react, or that she gains so much social leverage that people legitimately can't afford to laugh at her or even talk behind her back, and everything about her indicates she would chose the second option. It's what she's been training her whole life for, but now with an actual personal motivation sufficient to make her "the good guy" and "justified" in her actions by more than the rule of power.Guilt is also a poor basis for a long term relationship. I don't think I really need to go into detail on that, but basically the dynamic would reinforce her negativity no matter how much good she objectively might do.That's why rooting for her is, at least, a long shot. So, again, what made you root for her? Is it just that she's the only entity around with a spine and goals?
