Only heard about this recently due to the new videos, but I've been reading up on it.
Generally not a fan of the redesigns, but there are a few which I think are quite pretty and could work with some slight alterations as well as having some features toned down (Pic related). Spike, Big Mac and Vinyl are definitely my least favorite of the bunch. Don't like the look of her batponies either.
I'm usually excited about any new pony content, and the creator behind this does seem to be decently passionate about it, which helps. However, these designs and some of the story outline stuff have dampened my expectations considerably. The creator mentioned that the series will handle some mature themes, specifically noting LGBT stuff and neurodivergence. From my experience with other fan projects, these themes can often come across as preachy and can do a great disservice to the overall story.
Of course, there's a way to handle these things well, but making Scootaloo trans and getting her into a relationship with Sweetiebelle does not fill me with hope.
One point in favor of the author regarding this subject is that a good amount of thought seems to have been put in designing their version of Equestria. So this project likely isn't just a vehicle to spout her opinions, which is unfortunately what happens a fair amount of times.I've yet to watch the new(?) storyboard stuff, but I plan to give it a look soon enough. Might change my perspective on this whole thing.
Anyway, the newest vid for this project is a panel discussing and showcasing what NDOH is in more detail: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uJmeA1VCcuU
