They should just make the entire gundam out of beams.

I saw a Gundam fan design that was like that. It was an inner frame that emitted beam armor all over.

One of the few things I remember watching Seed was Jesus Yamato using the Freedom Gundam and them reusing the beam animation over and over again. The most it was used in one episode 3 and I was flabbergasted. How on Earth did we watch a show where one pilot could fight 10 or even 15 Gundams at the same time?

What's the appeal of SEED? I haven't seen it, and it seems really popular on /m/ lately.

That's actually kind of what Turn A is. The metal parts are a hollow shell over an incredibly complex I-Field construct.

Now that's a good idea!

That's where UC was going. You would eventually have mobile suits that are just beam armor that can also be beam sabers at the same time, protecting a central core that is just the generator, cockpit, and thrusters.

Isn't there some Turn A DEEP LORE that says the titular Gundam is actually built out of "solid" beams held together by I-fields?

Then I have the Gundam Legilis for you.
