Overall, I thought Beatbreak was pretty good. It wasn't really more than what it was, and the third cour could have gone much better despite containing one of the best episodes in the series. The final cour was really good. The final episode, while covering a lot of ground, didn't feel absurd in terms of pacing. There are lingering questions that I think were intentionally left unanswered, not because they want you thinking about them, but because they specifically don't want you to think about it.Tomorou's and Asuka's parents have been gone for five years. They are barely more than an addendum, and it was the same when they were first brought up. They're shown in the crowd watching Asuka's concert and cheering for him. The gravity of them being gone for 5 years when they had two dependant children shouldn't be understated, but that's not the kind of story Beatbreak is about. It's about find a family, and actual biological family gets in the way of that. Where does Tomorou live now? Is he still at Glowing Dawn's headquarters, separate from Asuka and his parents? Kyou seems to be at Nirinsou full time now, so is it just Tomorou, Reina, and Makoto?Beatbreak has a world that makes you so curious to understand more, but at the same time it leaves you wondering if there's really much more written for it. It's not quite like Adventure and 02 where a large amount of background information shapes the story. Beatbreak has a double-edged sword in its setting being in 2050; it can handwave certain things with "It's the future" and make you think there's this vast history that explains things, but that would also require having to come up with said vast history. Beatbreak itself feels much like the modern day and it's sometimes easy to forget its setting.

They faked me out with the opening, but then it actually became a new opening with all the characters from the first four series, evolving using each other's methods. I recorded it, but the stream isn't great, a little choppy at points.

It's nice to be able to actually understand what the hell is being said for once without the audio being horribleIt seems that there are going to be four ending themes, because this one focuses on Adventure and notable areas in Tokyo. The next episode preview not being episode 2 is hilarious.

Frontier not having Digimon partners would not have been anywhere near as awful if the spirits were actually present in the story and talked to the kids outside of the last five minutes of the show. Fairimon learning and speaking a bit of Italian because of being with Izumi is something we should have seen actually happen in the middle of the show itself, not right before the credits roll.
