Given the state of how 2D mecha os being handled from Sunrise, I’d personally love to see Sentinel done by the animation team that did IGLOO. The character designs lend themselves to that style as well.

Ignoring the rights issue, I just don't think it's that good of story, most of the characters are pretty flat and Zeta/ZZ timeline just isn't as interesting compared to the vast blank canvas of potential that is post-CCA world..

Funny enough it was supposed to have had like a 3 or 2 minute animation promo back in the late 80s to promote the sentinel book but ended up not being made, possibly as a result of complications but even so it proves it wasn’t meant to be fully animated to begin with

a Sentinel anime would have to have no compromises in the animation when it came to the MS designs. Fully detailed. They did a pretty good job with Hathaway of keeping all the details.

Even though it never got farther than the planning stage in the Sentinel story, I would totally be happy with seeing the Deep Striker built and involved in combat in the Sentinel anime.

I like the setting, some of the overarching story and combat, but the characters and especially alice just fucking suck. New desides are fun but the whole cheshire cat thing is just bizarre. Alice is shockingly un-interactive and doesn't really do anything outside of being an I win button. The protagonist is a mongoloid and this is actually necessary for the story to work. He's not even always that bad, it's like he's condemned to it by the narrative. He simply has to be angry pee-pants retardo or the story doesn't work.It's especially bizarre with how often this is talked up as the hardcore real military science fiction gundam, and it's about a computer you have to unknowingly date into becoming sentient. And you can't notice this or uhhh.... it doesn't work?

Not any of the previous posters duking it out about canon however, personally speaking I think 0083 is complete utter drivel and over steps its bounds by introducing Operation Stardust. It is such a huge cataclysmic event that it never being referenced to in Zeta or even ZZ is absurd and also makes the Titans seem somewhat soft all things considered, after Operation Stardust they would have been 10x times worse. (It was made after these I know, Zeta ANT still doesn't give a fuck about 0083 outside of showing a GM Quel).

Mech designs are great, but they need to write another story, existing one is meh. If it's about Alice awakening then the story should include some hot and steamy human-AI romance. It may sound awkward, but deep inside you know it's true.
