I watched this show on Toonami off and on as a kid, and just decided to watch through the whole thing finally. It was even better than I remembered. I especially love the overall setting and ship designs.
What are /m/'s thoughts on Outlaw Star?
Also, any recommendations for someone who wants to watch more things similar to it?

Of the three big space westerns of its time it's the most criminally underrated and underappreciated.

It's a a fun show, definitely worth a watch for anyone who hasn't seen it. It's less /m/ than some might think but it's still a good space Western show.
Now if you're looking for something else like it there's of course things like Cowboy Bebop and the Wild Arms anime if you want to lean more into /m/.
But if you want a truely /m/ show that's similar there's this great show by the name of Gun Sword (or Gun X Sword, it's not clear which it's supposed to be.)
