Correct, Amuro doesn't deserve to breed

At the time, the movie was ambiguous enough they could have stepped back on his death. But then they didn't and it ended up solidifying through the years.

You can tell they probably regret it. Wouldn't be surprised if they plan to some how retcon this.

Japanese in general really really hate seeing characters start families and kissing and such.

Isn't it more of Tomino's idea, while Sunrise didn't necessarily want Amuro to die? He mentioned here and there in interviews back then he wanted Amuro to fucking die more than once

well, the 'official' stance is that Char and Amuro are not technically dead but MIA.

I love the idea that these two are one drunk mistake away from producing some kind of Newtype antichrist.

Amuro didn't become family man even in BC. He still died with Char before he officially became his unborn child's father

they wanted amuro to have flaws to make him more similar to char.
its why he has yet another new girl for the movie.regarding the ending, both were officially missing in action rather than dead, just in case they wanted to milk them again.

being a family man is boring and autistic japs can't relate to that at all, way more honorable to die in le last stand honorable yamato death for the sake of a brighter tomorrow. bonus points for the random show of pointless comradery at the very end.

The original Gundam fans were fujoshits, like otaku they hated the idea of their husbando having an actual wife. The otakus took over Gundam way later, back then anime was centered around fujoshits and kiddy Gunpla customers.Nowadays the anime does not matter much anymore and its more about coomsooming the Gunpla product (except if you're a MG collector, then you don't get shit).

Amuro and Char had to die, they lost plot armor and main character status. Especially Char, who didn't show up in ZZ. They were the most marketable heroes and the toy companies wanted to bring them back somehow. Amuro barely got an arc in Zeta. Tomino was done with him and Char was set up to take action after what happened in Zeta. CCA's premise makes a lot of sense with all the status Char gained and never wanted.

Honestly I want more Char and Haman because I love these two cocksuckers so much. Amuro I can take or leave.
