Rajura birthday in about a week, right? Maybe Ramaga pushed him and the other warlords into the fountain of death and turned their armor into tempura.

>Murota was actually surprised when he was chosen, and even more surprised to hear that the YST characters would be returning since he honestly didn't know how to redesign them as older versions of themselves. He said that the designs he submitted for the 6 troopers (including Ryusei) didn't change much and were kept pretty intact, bar some alterations here and there. Murota also said that he could've emulated Norio Shioyama's art style more, but was afraid he wouldn't have been picked due to not standing out enough, so he didn't in the end. He felt that simply using Shioyama's art style for the new gen characters would make them too formulaic and bland. Ryo was the only YST character whose adult design was done by him; the other 4 were done by chief animation director Tomoko Tanaka, with Murota supervising so their base designs didn't stray too far from the original.

You just know whoever the next cheap casualties are will likely have even more random flashbacks of things the viewers never got to see before to hammer in "How sad a loss".
>Ryo talking to Nasti or Kaede about how he wishes Gai could be his son
>Other old Troopers interacting with the new ones and you question when that could've even happened at all
>Really dead montage of Byakuen moments where he's suddenly in scenes he wasn't before, in an almost Drawn Together-like fashion
>Jun fanservice as a take that to those who wanted to see that with the old men
>Rekka lady then yells at others how the oyaji aren't the main characters anymore so that should be expected, get over it and stop hoping about them, while crying how could Sunrise tug at her feels so bad

Why are people acting like Sagume being Gai's mom is such a big twist? Is it not one of the least surprising things from this show? We already know Ramaga is his father (biological or not). So who else could've been his mother?

Thought: Do you think they'll wind up giving the old Trooper fans the guys' lore between old and new in something outside this show, but it's just more contrived angst or vagueness for the sake of it?
Putting on the Muto thinking cap:
1. Seiji never got to marry so he grew out his hair as a mark of his celibacy, only being able to cut such hair if he were to ever find the ONE. But this just makes him look like a weird old guy with overly long hair and many women are still below his standard to marry into the Date dojo.
2. Touma has the glasses because his eyes are going bad from his high blood sugar but he just can't stop, won't stop. His soul patch may look cringe but his facial hair used to be more out of control until his wife made him shave, then divorced him and took the house while he was missing.
3. Shuu is on chemo but it's making his hair fall out and his muscles waste so he covered up with the headwrap and the leggings and that jacket so no normies would go blind from the sun reflecting his baldness, but also no one ever would see his loose skin on those skinny old man arms.
4. Shin got laryngitis from his pack a day habit and his drinking to cope with everything, there is also a rumor he screamed too loud in a night of passion with a certain other person and that was when he truly became a man.
5. Ryo, uh wait, you've already seen enough of him people. We don't need to tell you more about him, he was Yamato's hero and got possessed by Ramaga. We won't tell you if Luna ever happened.

Looks like Kayura and the warlords do in fact exist and are still in the same universe. The catch? They all fucked off to another country to deal with other gods. The OVAs are still canon too apparently. Just pointless now since Suzunagi's armor were useless and had to be replaced.https://www.samurai-trooper.net/news/detail.php?id=24338

Another thing, I think the weapon switch for Musashi and Yamato are indeed based on Bagani, where their counterparts wield similar weapons (Musashi wields twin daggers and a shield instead of Shin's jumonji yari, and Yamato wields a halberd instead of Shu's sansetsukon). Keep in mind, the armor designers are still the same after more than 30 years.

If Rajura spread his seed in the human world and Seiun was born around the time Shion and Ryusei were, she could theoretically be his illegitimate daughter. Otherwise, she's a descendant of one of his relatives since it'd be weird for only him to have a kid and none of the others.

Apparently, Shion's armor is officially called Seito 星斗 which means starlight or stardust. We still don't know if it's an armor specifically for his cosmo element or a tenkuu based one for when he was possibly filling in the sky trooper role. Muto also thinks he's slick calling it Seito. That's one of the three territories that Japan was split into in Build

Got some samples of the timeline crit that has the someone steamed up that anyone would question Muto's brilliance
>"Um...It feels kinda off to explain all the parts that couldn't be fully covered in the anime right here...And making us think it's a sequel from the TV finale, only to forcibly connect it from the OVA—that feels off too...At this point, it's basically a parallel world, or rather a completely different work...I was watching it thinking it was a parallel world branching off from the TV finale, but probably from the original series onward, it's already different..."
>"The original Yoroiden has been changed, hasn't it? This timeline It feels like they've been hiding the fact that the true sequel isn't a continuation of Yoroiden, but a sequel to a new interpretation remake..."
>"I wanted to say this after watching the Shinden all the way to the end, but like, the stuff that should've been revealed in the main story, you just summed it all up in this one timeline—
The connection from Yoroiden to Yoroishinden, this is the absolutely essential part for claiming it's a "legit sequel," right here— I think it's better than leaving it unrevealed and calling it quits, but is this really the answer?"
>"I'd rather have wanted an anime adaptation set in 1998 like this one."
>"Huh, what is this...A worldview where things like the Suzunagi armor exist? Now, all of a sudden??? I don't get the meaning."Some JPtwt users had resigned themselves to believing the OVAs were no longer canon because of what Kawahara had stated about them being divisive, and the "shin" kanji being for "true" as if it were the true, legit sequel. Now they have to contend with this drop.

Common nitpicks so far from jpn or ones wanting these things seen or explained:
- Purple Kikoutei armor? Wasn't Black Kikoutei already the polar opposite, with Kokuen involved in that plot?
- Why is Kenbukyou not acknowledged as the would-be "yu" holder, when that was said in later books?
- Now where are Kayura-tachi, will they show up late to the party (and get killed by Ramaga)?

bullshitting why OAV1/Gaiden's not on new timeline, makes sense as anything else there:
>Ryo cremated Luna so they'd avoid police investigating an unsolved murder
>The five, Nasty, and Jun swore to never talk of this event again to not be traumatized and to move on and maybe have a better do-ever vacation yay
>Unfortunately disposing Luna caused more trauma, making them unable to see or smell BBQ meat the same way again
>This explains their continued low bishonen BMI
>They still do not talk about Luna and have never gone back to NYC or LA

>Arago chooses to become an Asura by possessing a child born on a battlefield littered with corpses in the human world. His subordinate, Badamon, the leader of the Earth Spirits, steals the "Armor of the Shining Emperor," one of the gods' armors, and seals away the power of nature. Arago fuses with the Armor of the Shining Emperor, which is presented to him, and establishes his position as the Demon Emperor Arago. What the fuck. Arago became an ashura by possessing a child? He didn't turn into a youja later on? And the kikoutei is only ONE OF the armors from the divine world?

Alterations made to Daijiten timeline:
>"Heian period" with retcons to Arago and the Kikoutei added
>Further lore about the armor names, virtues, and Kaos' position added to year 990
>This footnote removed: "Arago's power increased by absorbing the resentment of the people of the Sengoku period. That is why Kaos had to exert all his strength to seal away the demonic power."
>Footnotes about the Demon Generals' aging and their recruitment removed.
>Nasty Yagyu is no longer born in France, but now in Kanagawa Prefecture
>Jun's birth year fixed from 1976 to 1979
>1989 now mentions Ryo and the rest became high school students, then everything from there on is new. Then for the OVAs:
>Kikoutei Densetsu set in 1989, Message set in 1990 to have it continue to be "a year after Kikoutei Densetsu"

Anon09/05/26, 07:22No.24007622
What do books from during the show say about that Demon Emperor? There's a bit:
>Animedia, March 1989: "Arago is regarded as an entity formed when the lingering spirit of an ordinary warlord was absorbed by—and subsequently absorbed—other spirits within the Youja World, thereby growing into a massive (and malevolent) being.”
>The Daijiten about his armor: "Arago's armor is an artifact created by Badamon—leader of the Earth Spirits—who sealed within it the nine elemental forces of the natural world and presented it as a tribute to Arago. Its power is said to rival that of the Kikoutei. As a reward for presenting this armor, Badamon and the Earth Spirits were granted the gift of eternal life! “
>Memorials 2: "The Heian period (794 AD – 1185 AD). In the Heian period of Japan, far from the capital city, there is a battlefield where evil spirits are there and are spreading out across the land. A boy was born there, listening to the voices of the dying and watching people die. A traveling monk took in this little boy and named him 'Arago'. For the first time, this boy realized that he was a human being. Unfortunately, one day, the monk disappeared from his life. The boy was left on the battlefield again. He abandoned his humanity in order to survive and gained the strength to control the battlefield. Arago attempted to summon the powers and spirits of the Youja World to gain evil powers and incredible strength. However, before he could fully summon the Youja World’s forces, Kaos appeared before him. As Arago's physical time was over (he died), his body was taken into the Youja World. There he amassed more evil power. Later, while Kaos was away and not protecting his clan, Arago's soldiers invaded and slaughtered almost all of the Kaos clan except for one little girl. Arago did this to prepare for his next invasion of the Human World.”

The Daijiten has these official English spellings for characters.>Shu Layfang
>Nasty Yagyu
>Shutendouji
>Nāza
>Rajyura
>Anubisu
>KaosuMy understanding is a lot of USA English speakers don't want to use "Nasty" but they use "Anubisu" going back to old fandom rules and translator preferences to help separate him from Shuten's dub name being "Anubis". There's debates on if to put the monk as "Kaosu" or "Kaos", as his name may have been inspired by the Greek word as much as Anubis' was by Egyptian.

Alright, I'll admit. Inmei obliterating Sagume got a chuckle out of me. But I seriously need to know, what is UP with Muto finding a way to excuse every single horrible thing a character does? Every time their actions are brought up, an excuse will be made and the other characters just forgive/defend them.>Ryusei and the troopers tell Gai he didn't need to feel bad about the people he killed
>Kaito says that Gai doesn't have to repent any longer since he's a hero
>The ten braves are made to be good guys all along with their quirky cute antics making them harmless despite not fully atoning for their murders
>Sagume makes excuses after Ramaga calls her out for being a bad mother, Ryusei defends her despite her saying she'd steal human souls or do ANYTHING to "save the divine world"
>Gai forgives Sagume and somehow feels her love, Inmei is now made a scapegoat for everything bad that happensAt this rate, I suspect Ramaga will be redeemed as well since Sagume transported him elsewhere and told him to help Gai

Real talk.I havent watched this anime but I did watch the 1990s anime Ronin Warriors on TV. It was hardcore. Reminded me of like a male version of Sailor moon that appealed to boys. But Why does this new version look so bright and cheerful? Where's the gritty and dark atmosphere of the original anime? Why does every character look exactly the same? Same height, roughly same build, but different hair styles. Not trying to be a hater but I'm genuinely asking if this remake anime is doing well in the ratings? If it is, then I apologize. I would be very surprised if it was. It just doesn't appeal to me like the old 90s anime did. It lacks the edgy grit of the original. I'm only basing my opinion the few pictures I've seen posted in this thread.

>How come Gai can use the haoutei but Ramaga can't?
I don't even remember which character asked this (goes to show how unimportant the troopers have become), but to answer the poor sod, it's because Ramaga isn't Gai's real father. It's Yatogojin who's his real father. So Gai doesn't have to worry about growing up ugly or demon-like, he's a literal son of god! I don't remember Ryo getting this amount of wank or cheat code nor him being the center of every single plot point. In the og, it wasn't Ryo whose parentage was important, it was Kayura. Who isn't even in this sequel.

Running theory right now is that if ep23 is "Shin (Truth kanji)" then ep24 is "Shin (New kanji)". Usually Animage spoils titles ahead of time but there's been a tight lid on information like that because of the publisher's policies to what fans can and can't post about the issues.

Rekka lady, who wants people not in Japan to respect their dislike of spoilers, is now talking about the leaks because she really wants them to happen guys>Sorry, this is just a fleeting thought on one point, but I really loved Ryo's little speech at the end of the episode, where he says that although there's nothing they can do to aid the others in their fight, they CAN at least protect the world and prepare it for their return. To me, that line felt like a clue for further story developments. I'm going to talk about some major spoilers, so please DO NOT READ if you don't want to be possibly spoiled...
>Sometime last year, when some production materials were leaked, we saw that Gai actually has a last name: Sanada. As you all know Gai has been the only one without an actual last name... possibly until the end of the battle, in which Ryo might open up his home to him, adopting him in a way. Considering ALL of them are orphans... it might be super cute if the remaining OG Troopers adopt the others as well. haha A happy, extended Trooper family.
>Also, this isn't really a spoiler but... I'm somewhat hoping that they make some deeper connection with Kaito's grandma since she's voiced by Kayura's original voice actress. Masako Katsuki. I understand that simply having her involved on the new show is likely just giving a nod to the OG show, but... it seems like a lot of effort for something that doesn't necessarily pay off in any greater way. I think it's still possible that Granny Uesugi is holding some deeper secrets that might connect directly to Kayura and the others. haha

Too many Shins on the dancefloor
>I believe the anime was meant to release during the 35th anniversary, which would have been 2023, I believe... I'm trying to remember when my friend in the industry quietly told me a reboot was underway, but I'm pretty sure that was PRIOR to when COVID hit, because we had a sort of get-together party then... I think it was around 2019 or so? So that timeline would pan out. I'm pretty sure the intended meaning for "shin" is right there in the title: 真 (true)... but I think the double meaning could also be 心 (heart)... so I kinda think it's gonna take the combined hearts of EVERYONE to beat Inmei, all of which will lead to a new beginning, which would be another "shin" meaning: 新 (new).
