as sad it is to say, this happens very much in real life. No matter the type of harm, when someone are hurt as a young person, it isn't uncommon for the the damages to stay as when this person becomes an adult. It's the same reason how some people who got physically beaten end up repeating this as they get older. Among other things.Though Char himself never loved Haman, the damages was all the same to her. it broke her mind. Unlike Char however, Haman doesn't like this at all. I think that's why she killed herself at the end of ZZ. She couldn't live with this shame on what she became.

Either he did it to get closer to Mineva, or Haman would have reminded him too much of Lalah for him not to.Char's non-commitment to leading the AEUG, and his relationship of not being able to commit to Reccoa, are probably the best insight we have as to what might have went down with him and Haman. Both Haman and Zeon were asking for a committed relationship, and the dude can't even keep an identity, and he got cold feet and bailed on them both.He just runs away from everything. That's his entire character arc in Zeta. Amuro's arc is a mirror of this.

Haman is literally an adopted mother in the show. She literally has a child she is in charge of, and she is like a mother to Zeon. As far as Haman being like Lalah the Qubeley is LITERALLY the successor to the Elmeth. Haman would have been the first really powerful Newtype Char met besides Lalah and Amuro.
