Cool show. Kinda dumb 2nd season, just kinda. Never fully explained why they lived in the simulation like Ergo Proxy did.Crazy Turner had so much pull they can get Sunrise and Production IG to make shows.

I wish the ending wasn't literally "uh...it's all a metaphor i guess". I like it a lot, I still hunger for more. I suspect had it kept going there would have been some pretty wild power-creep with how Big-O seemed to simply manifest mecha-magic powers over time. But the world that had been set up was good, one of the few vague-lore settings where it works because its focus is more on themes, sub-plots and cool retro-styled robots with a bit of silliness here and there.The entire soundtrack is S-tier and the opening of the second season picking up right at the end of the first was great. It took me 20 years to realize that Big Duo's face is half black/half white. I always thought it was just stylish shadowing. Like O and Fau have half their faces shadowed in that very pic!

I feel like I'm in the minority but I loved the plot stuff in season 2 a lot. I love weird "Twin Peaks" stuff in general. (I don't know what to call it.) It was still ambiguous enough to be really compelling. The only problem was the downgrade in animation/style quality from hand drawn to digital.

2nd season is a drastic downgrade compared to the previous season due to being produced by CN and Toonami, and having vital plot points crammed into what was originally intended to be revealed over 3 seasons

I loved most of it, but the season finales are both shit. Journey before Destination and all that. Dorothy was a huge waifu of mine for a while. Big O is definitely on my top 10 mecha (or whatever designation you wanna give it). I yearn for those piston fucking punches in other shows at some point.
