SEA, Europe and even Latin America all got to enjoy mecha and anime before them and that makes them insecure so they try to larp as "true fans" rejecting one of the most popular franchises in the medium.

What the fuck are you even talking about? Americans are the ones who have pushed Eva the most.You mention Latin America, for example, and I clearly remember that, in the 90s and 2000s, barely anyone besides the usual college student Brazilians, Mexicans and Argentines gave a shit about it. It was only after 3.0's theatrical run there, and the Netflix release that spics and hues in general started doing the Eva larp because of the marketing.
