The episode was well-directed, but just like the previous 2-parter, the writing hasn't up to par.The callback to the scene where Baku became Seven in real life was neat, and him starting to mix reality and dreams up doesn't bode well for him.Seems like Nasuka has already moved on from Kureha's death, her character just feels like a complete afrerthought at this point. Meanwhile Fujimi once again tried to talk some sense into Nox, but the faggot ignored and walked out on him again.While it was neat to see some civilian deaths to give the endgame a sense of stakes, this episode also proved that Baku can definitely use Exdream to rewind deaths, or recent deaths at the very least. This retroactively makes several of the previous episodes worse, since it proves he could've prevented Kureha's and Zero's deaths, as well as the hostage situation that led to him remaining beltless for a few episodes, if he had just made the simple and obvious decision to rewind what had just happened.I like that Nem is finally using her powers in useful ways again, even if it's been quite a while since the last time that happened.Nox continues to be a faggot and I don't know why he's even surprised that The Lady's base got trashed and Nem got kidnapped, when he just witnessed how Phantom took over his boss (which is his fault btw). He's showing signs of redemption but his face turn is being painfully dragged on. And this is more of a complaint regarding last week's episode, but it still applies to his character as a whole, as I just remembered that he was supposed to be searching for Somnia in order to destroy it but then forgot about that whole ordeal when he "finished" his revenge on CODE and tries to retire in the very next 2-parter, which makes him look even worse.(1/?)

I liked Touchybannerson's performance and the fight he got but it doesn't feel earned. Perhaps at one point they were expecting him to go away after Baku got Exdream but the higher-ups decided they wanted him to stick around longer for toys? Feels like they slotted it in here in one episode so they have enough time for whatever they're cooking for the finale eps because at the rate they're burning through boss nightmares there has to be another arc after them. Baku mastering english IRL and getting mixed up where he is better be setting up a for a mindbending dream within a dream inceptionkino finale.

If they were gonna go this route then it would have made more sense if Sieg’s murders were mainly due to his family and CODE ordering to do so, until his mind broke due to them. Maybe he killed people for his family, killed his dad, CODE captured him and forced him to work for them. Then he would have only killed his dipshit father due to personal choice, not the thousands he did. He would still be hard to redeem, but if 99% of his murders were orders from others he had no choice in doing, and this episode is him finally breaking free from other people’s control, it could have worked. Instead, the show makes it clear he murdered a lot of people out of self interest and enjoyment, not because he was forced to. If they weren’t willing to make him accountable for his actions, then rewrite the character entirely.
