There's this guy on YouTube who remastered not only the English dub of Spectreman, but ALL dubs of it! & his remaster is uncut compared to the other remaster which keeps all the cuts the dub originally came with. & now they're uploading the series raw..... with AI-generated subs, which sucks obviously, but it makes me think, correct me if I'm wrong but surely it wouldn't be THAT hard for someone who knows Japanese to fix those, or anything with bad subs for that matter, right? Definitely gotta be way easier than subbing it from scratch at least.

There’s an 80's Korean toku movie called Thunderhawk from Outer Space (외계에서 온 우뢰매), starring the notorious Hyung Rae-Shim, which got like 8 sequels. I bring it up because I saw a bunch of English reviews for it on Letterboxd all from around the same time, meaning it had to have been subtitled somewhere, but I can’t for the life of me find where.

I got nothing against Toei Spider-Man, but the fact that they adapted Spidey's costume, powers, and... basically nothing else & tacked them onto an otherwise bog-standard 70's Toei toku, inevitably makes one ponder what exactly the point was in licensing him in the first place. Like did Toei think kids would reject it if it even slightly deviated from what a Japanese superhero show is "supposed to" be like or am I just talking out my ass?
