Oh, if you insist, OP. I had a multi-generational mecha epic that I started "planning" (daydreaming about) in high school, conceived of as either an animated or game series. I'll dig up some art later, but the basic synopsis (with the music I associated with it):Overarching: Invoke (TM Revolution)>Gen 1: a native from a primitive planet accidentally activates an ancient draconoid "Xygguraut" mech and is recruited into a massive war that pits his society's space-faring cousins against a fearsome enemy: humanity.

Meteor (TM Revolution)>Gen 2: the human/furry peace is shattered by an attack by a third civilization. Abandoned in his first battle, A'ern Ktrin is saved by a passing junk collector, only to be thrust back into the conflict upon the discovery and activation of another legendary Xygguraut.

A super sentai team where each member is from different tokusatsu, with a theme of combining different dimensions. The team would be an alien, time traveler, cyborg, magic girl, and ninja. The combined mech would be made from the teams different elements, there would also be 3 team figuration based around the leader. These 3 teams would be inspired by different mecha genres and change the teams personalities becoming alternate dimensions of themselves. The sixth team member would have a summoning watch used to call a kaiju, giant robot, and alien super hero

I'm an amateur drawfag with a big stake in classic /m/edia. Lately I've been revisiting alot of old favorites again and in doing so, inspiration struck me. Unfortunately I struggle to divine where best to begin with the robot's design, but I can at the very least relay the core concept of the story.

i'm a fanboySITC: post-apocalyptic five-way smackdown in the ruins of earth and space. salvagers and bandits killing each other on earth, aliens show up to kill them sometimes. in space the aliens are fighting the spacenoids larping as feudal nobles who built zombie robots to fight the aliens, but the zombie robots went haywire and are trying to kidnap and preserve all human life while exterminating the aliens. very uc inspired tech, uses minovsky particles, newtypes exist, etc. main gimmick revolves around gravity tech, much of it stolen from aliens.
GFA: g gundam but it's between us states to decide who gets to be the next president. also in this timeline the immortal president who instituted the gundam fights and has won all of them conquered canada and mexico so their states get to participate too. there's an amish gundam.
SK: my take on the witch from mercury style school for piloting giant robots story. feuding noble houses pitting their youth against each other. duels at school where people die is normal. protag-kun is an infiltrator with the specific goal of bringing the whole system down. i've done less for this one than the previous two.
BDO: i've done even less for this one than for SK. it's about people desperately trying to get by inside a massive BLAME! style megastructure. the place is so big that you need a mobile suit just to flip a light switch, basically. people think of their mobile suit as part of their body. lots of weird black box schizotech, inexplicable horseshit, etc.

At first the conversation focused on just the old toylines but inevitably my imagination got the better of me and I found myself pitching a mess of toy ideas. Discussions of how a T2 saturday morning cartoon would have turned out inspired more toys there too. Some wholy original, others repaints of existing kenner product.

Tokusatsu Gagaga has been on my mind a lot and it got me thinking of a visual novel dating sim concept about toku otaku.
>male lead (red)
Mid 20s, recently got a normal career job and had to move on from his previous part-time role doing toku stage shows. Type of toku otaku who "isn't actively hiding it but doesn't show it"
>main heroine (blue)
Based around Nakamura. Hidden otaku, generally has her shit together, family drama about toku. MC's senpai at work, and the MC actually recognizes her as frequenting stage shows, obviously she has no clue about this. Likes the Rider equivalent franchise, serious storylines and animal motifs
>kouhai (pink)
Tomboy who is still doing stage shows and wants to break out into suit acting. Very open otaku, mostly around gym friends. Likes Sentai and sci-fi series
>Gaijin (yellow)
Ojou-type who can be used to explore "American toku," childhood favorite toku would be a reference to the TMNT movie. Works in an anime licensing company and wants to break out into getting toku international growth. Likes Ultraman and comedy series
>Hikki (Green)
Only got into toku as an adult and suffers from FOMO. Remains professionally secure but socially isolated. Likes kaiju and generally darker series.
>MC's bros (Purple & White)
One is a roommate and aspiring game dev who likes ninjas, the "lock-in heroine route" moment would be when he gets a professional job and has to move out and the heroine whose route you're on moves in to replace him. Other bro would be the "Sixth Ranger" who is more into mahou shoujo series, he'd have his own arc about having to open up to his non-otaku girlfriend.
>"if there's time" add in the visual novel standard "older woman who gets a degree of focus but no route lol" as a rep for Showa purists (possibly at least a mini-route)

I'm gonna give it to you guys straight. I had a full crash out coming up with this mech and I'm still not in love with it, I think I put too much focus on the shapes of the original machines and didn't make them cohesive enough as a combined form. I've been trying to come up with something for BB and I am just coming up completely flat. A jet or a spaceship is the obvious choice, but I don't think I have the skill to come up with a design that's cohesive, stylish, and one that works as a standalone robot, vehicle, and combiner component.

I really wish we still saw corny American localizations. Apparently Machine Robo had a whole mess of martial arts/sports themed releases that were never exported anywhere. When I'd learned or this I just kept ruminating on building a whole franchise off the line ala TF or Voltron. In the moment I thought of it as a cross between Kinnukuman, Pla Res Sanshiro, Real Steel, and Medabots.
