At last VD, the last AC game on the checklist (I might check out mobile game later for lulz tho) First, the elephant in the room... SMALLER AND LESS DENSE MAPS = BETTER PERFORMANCE!! Also I swear the post-processing is not as nauseating, but it might be the byproduct of more stable framerate. I don't notice that much difference in gameplay aspect other than rebalanced part stats. Replaying mission is not a chore anymore now that the mission list is back. One thing I don't like is heavily tying part unlock to mission rank and subquest clear, instead of simple exp bar like V, so I can't passively unlock more parts while repeatedly attempting S rank, especially since I'm carrying over data, getting actual new parts are few and far between.

I should probably feel bad about doing all the MoA arena fights on the garage map, but I really don't. The PSX era games have a lot of of constricted map design leading to builds optimized for tunnel and city fighting, and somehow the AC AI feels like it never has to deal with subpar lock box rotation. So fuck it, if my target tracking sucks because of poor controls I'm gonna even the odds against the enemy ACs, and I refuse to be a poorfag and use Human Plus augments.

People like to say 5th gen is slow and clunky, but after experiencing it I think it might be faster than AC6. Sure at first it seems slower because you can't fly, then as you get farther you see AC jumping around like crazy. It kinda demand you get better at vertical tracking compared to other gen.

I've hit the credits of AC6 as my first Armored Core game and it is a lot of fun but I don't get why some people struggle with it (aside from it apparently being far harder on initial release), other new players still seem to get stuck on bosses. It was challenging for sure and I was dying from time to time but there was no point where it felt oppressively difficult. So why do some people find it really hard? (Other FromSoft games I've played are Dark Souls 1 and 3 and Sekiro, I also spent about as much time in the test room as playing missions and arena at least at first.)

Just finished VD, this one really feels harder solo, definitely designed more for coop, lategame there's so many dual AC fights and missions with lots of mobs/reinforcements, especially some subquest feels nigh impossible without another player/UNAC. (that mission with sniper reaper w/o losing ally) Final boss was fucking kino, definitely worth as final farewell to the series at the time, though I think it's easier than V final boss.

I liked parkouring up vertical surfaces rather than just boosting. Gave more significance to the legs instead of making me question their purpose altogether. The movement just feels cooler too.

Well, that's Master of Arena done. It's really amazing seeing how much more refined Armored Core got in such a short amount of time. I think out of the PSX games AC1 had the most interesting story, Project Phantasma had the most fun story and was a huge QoL improvement from AC1, and MoA was the best game overall even if I didn't care for the story and thought the arena was only marginally better than Phantasma's.
