I really liked it! I'm a bit new to the whole Gundam series, I had to binge watch the first three Gundam movies and then get a bit way through the first Hathaway movie. It felt more personal than the first film, you really get a deeper look at Hathaways mental state and his ideals in this film than in the first one. I really liked how they gave the crew on the Valiant personality and little quirks, like the Helms woman always dancing in the background with headphones or offering people lollipops. The tan tomboy engineer character was fan service but also felt memorable. My only issue with the film and this may be due to the novel itself, was how Kelia and Hathaway's relationship was. I really thought they were setting something up at the end of the first film, and then she just wasn't really in the second one I feel like she could have been something more for Hathaway. She changes her hair, tells Hathaway how she feels about him shutting off his emotions and becoming too lost in his own persona, helps him a little bit then leaves. It was really sad, and maybe that was the point. I understand they're setting up Hathaway and Gigi but still, I also wish a few of the side characters were developed a little bit more. I thought the fight scenes were amazing, I usually hate CGI in anime but I feel like the technology has improved enough to where if an animator knows how to use it they can do a really good job! The 360 cockpit fights were just beautiful the sound design throughout the whole film was amazing! I saw it in the English dub and I expected it to be mid, but it actually worked really well! All in all I recommend it!
