I will say at the least, from personal experience, if you are patient, have good parts knowledge, and are willing to try, a shitton of Lego builds can be reverse-engineered by eyeball. Eventually in trying to achieve the shapes others made, you will achieve something relatively similar, and then that experience you can apply to builds of your own. The build itself is loaded with visual information as to how any given thing was achieved, and anything you can't see you can try to kludge into being visually accurate. If you try to reverse-engineer others' builds, I recommend you familiarize yourself with Bricklink and stud.io.
