Replaying V for the first time after a long time, but going with Chitose as main character, since in my first playthrough I went with Soji.Man, the story really feels written for Soji though. The way secondary Soji still gets shoved into accounting is just silly. They say he's been placed as a reserve pilot, but since there's no free fighter he will mostly work on the Yamato accounting division.

I liked the game but I really wish the story was a bit more even and even moody tone wise. I'm not asking for anything grim and soul crushing but perhaps it's just a nature of the structure but it feels like any time something gets serious and needs reflection we do so by running off to an ice cream store. So what's the general feel for Y out of the last batch of games? I somehow missed its release after pre-ordering it. Most of the way through chapter 2 I think and so far not really feeling the cast or setting and especially not the MC's mech. It's ugly as shit. Trying to tie all the IPs into a single cohesive world instead of a bunch of parallel worlds is interesting, but feels way too busy. I think V being focused around the Yamato jumping around was my favourite, and I really liked the casts of X and T.

Opinion: If you get Messer killed in another SRW entry, does anyone think that Kaname will either stop growing as a Supporter or be outright removed from the Supporter list altogether as she loses her ability to sing permanently for this event? Having Messer survive the dogfight before expiring will still give Kaname the chance to either level up or stay in the Supporter list because she can still see him in his final moments.
