Judau and Glemmy were never meant to be main characters.Char was supposed to be the main character as he starts a Zeon Civil War against Haman.Then Tomino got funding approval for CCA movie and didn't want to waste Char on ZZ.

Katz was annoying, stupid and unlikeable, but he had a number of battlefield achievements that are often forgotten by people.He was the one who stopped the gassing of Side 2's colony 25, saving millions of lives in the process.He saved Kamille and Emma quite a number of times, usually from enemies piloting better MS. Technically, he won a dogfight against Jerid in episode 44, when he took out the Byarlant's verniers and forced Jerid to retreat.I also noticed during my Zeta rewatch that Katz more than once rushed and rammed opponents using his MS. I like to think that he picked up the idea after seeing Amuro use a transport plane to stop and take out the Asshimar.

Even Michael Bays Transformers had a romance subplot. You can't have all action all the time, thats not how stories work. Romance is one of the easiest things to write, but one of the hardest things to write well.

Finsihed WiP. Really good short OVA. Imo one of the most important supplement materials because it shows the war from the perspective of the civie and the colony. It's nice to see a kid who woke up from a military propaganda in the end. Too bad his good friend needed to die for that. Bernie was mindbroken i=by the war in the end as well. Him wanting to fight Gundam in the end reminded me some Stardust characters My theory is that Zeon fleet captain let capture himself because he didn't want to carry out that cruel order. Also the show actually showed that there is no good side. Feddies conducted the secret research of Gundam on the neutral colony. Zeon spec-ops started the operation without any consideration for civies lives (and they would easily kill MC if it didn't cause the police to investigate a kidnapping), Zeon's commander wanted to nuke the colony. Honestly not surprised that one of the most beloved Gundam shows isn't even about big robots because Gundam is carried by human interactions hard Still need to watch 08th team because it's the only OVA left but I'm planning to watch Victory next.
