Had a few weeks of listening to someone do pretty decent readings of old pulp stories while at work.Sadly their channel got hacked and now is spamming scams and valorant cheats.
Yet again it feels like you just can't have anything nice these days without some scammer coming in to ruin it.Channel was called Golden Age Fiction.
Probably only a matter of time before even that is changed too. Wasn't a big channel so there is almost no hope of Google doing anything about it, since they rely on broken AI systems for everything.

>A class based system with no maneuverability where the protag has to hide amongst the ranks of the higher classes, who all might as well be walking gods due to enhancement etc, with the aim of fucking the system
A serving of good ol' power fantasy would be a nice addon
Was chuckling at this being an overly specific ask, and there being no way there are many books like that. Then I got to thinkingCrazy how The Will of the Many, Suneater, Red Rising, Ironbound all kinda did this
I feel sure I'm forgetting some

this book sucks
despite being 'epic fantasy' there is nothing epic about it; darn it! there's barely any fantasy in it!
I'm over 1/3 through this and nothing has happened; the fmc, despite carrying the title of demon hunter, hasn't killed any demon in over 60k words!
most of the story is either the fmc dealing with no-sex depression or thinking about having sex at the same time she socializes with a crew of freaks and think about who suits better as mate to have sex with
she found one, but guess what, he has a terminal illness, and must likely dies within a few chapter just so she found another lover, most likely that guy's brother... or the other brother... of her friend's boyfriend
also, she has traume, was resurrected or something... what happened to her during childhood? well, take a fucking guess!
I swear, is like hearing following the story of a femsel who is about to have her womb run dry and is just desperate
it's hard to believe this was written by a man; actually, I think it's a foid who impersonated her (ex)husband and pasted his picture on GR's profile just so people would give her book a chance
this is not even a expuse to write smut for the sex scene are fade-to-black
authro tried me to convice me that, as a fan of Salvatore, this would be entertained, but it's just a snooze fest
DNF... I need my testosterone back... maybe Lords of Dûs can help me with that

I think the "Bobiverse" series should have remained a trilogy. Every new book feels like filler, dragging the setting on and everything is convenient as fuck. "Oh, you know those cool technologies in all your favourite sci-fi? Well they're all real and Bob finds and implements every single one!" The original trilogy at least had limitations and a villain who had to be beaten with insane yet grounded physics. Now it's all convenient FTL ships they found drifting in the middle of nowhere, wormhole networks and one of the original trilogy villains showing up and being oddly tech savvy for being a military grunt.

That Orsea chapter I just finished was depressing as fuck. Poor guy, rare time I actually felt something for a character in this story so far. Dude seems like one of those character whos written to just have the most conveniently bad luck ever.
