I'm about halfway through and this is literally one of the most libtarded books I've ever read. GR was as well but was a bit more subtle about it. But now I suspect that Pynchon's presence on this board's top 100 list is an indication that nobody here has actually read him, considering this is the same board that shills Mein Kampf and Evola and BAP.
I'm serious, Pynchon's ideas are basically the same as those of RF Kuang or Ta Nehisi Coates or "bell hooks."
>the west commercializes and oversexualizes black bodies (Austra in Cape Town)
>our consumption of mangoes and ketchup is a result of the exploitation of the natural resources of the indigenous people's of the global south (the whole Cape Town segment)
>america's history of slavery and fighting the natives is a stain on this nation's soul and shows how morally bankrupt this country has been since the very beginning (the depictions of Franklin, Washington)
>white men are evil or, at best, too lazy to do anything about evil (the titular characters)
>women are bright but not allowed to truly excel due to patriarchy (Molly and Dolly, Tenebrae)
>fascism inevitably hurts everybody, even those that support it (Paxton massacres of the Indians)
>dude the CIA is behind all violence in a pretext to further war and their personal power (suggestion that Americans are secretly arming the natives as a pretext for violence)
>dude corporations and the church rule the world (depiction of jesuits, East India Company)
>dude weed bro lmao (self-explanatory)

The libtardism is annoying at some points like when he unironically attempts to justify the Black Hole of Calcutta but it’s not really as pervasive as you make it out to be here. I’m about 75% through and what most annoys me is the pastiche, the novelty has worn off and the prose is a bit of a chore to get through

The Bible and Nitchy are also high on those lists. /lit/ is a very heterogeneous place. What is extremely funny, however, is how many chuds love Blood Meridian. It's an extremely lib aligned book if you understand it. You'd have to be completely retarded to think that it's a celebration of war or the conquest of the American West.

Members of this board shill for a subreddit talking about diaspora literature whenever they get the opportunity. This website is just mini unmoderated Reddit.

IMHO Pynchon's boomer libtardism is worst when he's covering a time he actually lived through, like with Inherent Vice and Vineland with their Nixon/Reagan obsession. You just know old Pinecone watches hours of MSNBC every night, he's not even an interesting or radical leftist, just an old tube-fed libtard

There's a thread on this board right now where OP passes Pynchon writing as Andy Weir's and everyone called it shit and reddit. Pynchon's status stands almost solely on being praised by retarded silents/boomers who thought putting SNL-tier sketches in a challenging books was the wackiest thing ever.

Reading a post-WW2 book and being surprised the author is libtarded is like reading a Medieval-era book and being surprised the author is Christian.

Yeah and they were all 100% right about everything. If the last 10 years of zio cum-garggling conservatism hasn't convinced you that the Right's entire belief system is total retardation then God bless and keep you.
