hi /lit/! I am looking to publish a new /lit/ quarterly magazine, the goal is to get as many submissions as we can, and to fully illustrate every submission
the first edition will go out on january 1st of 2027.
every submitted piece will receive from $20-$150 USD paid out in a cryptocurrency of the writer's choice.
obviously no AI stuff, and submissions need to be in by november 15 by the latest.
the artists will be sourced from /ic/ to kinda keep the theme going, and the writer can have some choice in that matter. accepting any short or long works.
the magazine will be in print as well, and free to read online
if you have any interest post submissions in here with some contact so payment can be arranged, or if you wish to eschew payment then just in here is fine.

This sounds more legit than most of the attempts at a similar effort I‘ve heard. I‘ve been drawn more to the idea of putting my work into some such project considering that the greats of yesteryear created their own circles instead of jumping through institutional hoops which were considerably less gay than those we have now.Tagging for the moment. Will figure out substack and post a story if this is still around after my next couple of busy weeks (ending long before 11/15.)Thank you OP for the effort, wherever it goes.

Isn't that a little ambitious?I'm not sure if by "other /lit/ boards" you mean the literature boards of altchans, but casting a wider net for writing might be good, but if you go too far you can easily end up swamped. Lit Quarterly suffered this when its submission page got posted to an aggregate site, and the number of submissions became too much to handle; you're offering money, which makes a big difference if people outside of /lit/ or 4chan catch wind of it. And on the opposite end of the spectrum, & struggled to pull submissions from /lit/ at times. That was monthly, but they had no standards, so it speaks to the absolute volume of submissions you might receive.When you combine the challenges of getting submissions from /lit/ with the challenges of getting submissions from /ic/, then you multiply whatever problems you'll have, either in terms of workload or in terms of scarcity.You also don't have any proof that the magazine will be worth a serious writer's time, if that's who you're aiming at. I feel like you should start at a smaller scale at least for a proof of concept. What are you trying to model the magazine after? Have you ever made a (maga)zine or book before? or done editing work? What kind of material do you want in it? per and .
