I do on occasion, but I never end up finishing them. I always feel like I'd rather be reading it instead.

No I don't think I shall. It's better to read books so your brain is doing more work, allowing you to stave off dementia for longer.

my wife says she read 80 books last year
i barely saw her crack a spine or use her kindle
65+ audiobooks borrowed from the library
i gave it a try and its not bad for genre fiction. wouldnt dare try to listen to anything real

They work well for genre fiction and plot books that are dialogue heavy (with a reader who can do voices and remembers which character has what voice) and with a simple sentemce structure. Anything seriously literary is wasted on an audio format, 80% of the subtext flies right over your head because you're doing dishes with some pleasing noise in your earbuds.

Audiobooks become a necessity when you actually have to read stuff for school
For leisure you can read however you want but I gotta get through this stuff

great for light books or for re-reading dense books. flashman audiobooks are a blast. i don't own flashman in print and have hardly even seen it so. the librivox recording of the faerie queene was incomprehensible to me when i first tried it, while now that i've read in print i find it very easy to follow.

I listen to audiobooks while I do manual work
I enjoy it a lot because I dont have much time and I feel sitting and reading is being lazy
I dont think it counts as reading and I am embarrased and dont tell people I like audio books
