Which is the most "faithful" translation? I'm talking about word-for-word accuracy rather than prose or meter.
I'm finishing my read of Iliad by Verity, so I'm exploring my options.

Rodney Merrill is the most faithful when it comes to equivalency translating. Wilson’s style is idea-for-idea, which is a translation that tries to translate idiom into our idiom.

If you really want word-for-word you want the murray version that has the greek on one page and a prose translation facing. It's a two volume thing.
