i had a wolfe phase as a freshman. he has a bombastic, dialect-heavy style of writing that appeals to midwits. at his best, he blurs political distinctions that others take for granted. at his worst, he writes just-so stories for out-of-touch boomers. perhaps the best conservative novelist since the 80s.

Pioneer of New Journalism. The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test is one of those books you read in your teens and think the people are cool then revisit when you're older and realize boomers were morally bankrupt hedonists who sold out at the first opportunity and ruined the world.
