You just don't get it artistic merit literally rots there are literally amounts of being known by others that a thing can be that changes what it is so that Blood Meridian is now no longer a good book because some guy made a youtube essay about it that got a bunch of views /lit/ is a serious board for serious readers of serious books you gotta listen to /lit/ anon be a good goy and throw every baby out with the bathwater at the slightest provocation

read Suttree instead its the superior book and it has a lot more going for it being a slice of life novel about a man thrusting himself into the dredges of old knoxville as a sort of penance for his lack of drive, very funny alkie story too
