Why did philosophers as Schopenhauer don't have a revival moviment as the stoics did? I mean, pessimist it was supposed to be the philosophy of our time. What went wrong?

Modernity is founded on the exact opposite. Pessimism is the ancient philosophy of man. Modernity is all about progress, evolving, overcoming obstacles, creating a better world, etc. It's the founding myth of the technological revolution and modern liberalism.Of course, this is all a hollow myth, but it's easier on the soul to believe things such as these, when in really impermanence, suffering and dissatisfaction with things rules the world.

Schopenhauer clearly did judging how 90% of posters on this board have a surface level understanding and don’t even know the basics of his metaphysics. Clearly parallels the whole stoicism “revival”.

The good parts of Schoppy's works are basically Hinduism and Buddhism except without the salvation and mythology. The bad parts are just his incel seething. And everything in between has been more eloquently described, characterized, and expanded upon by Nietzsche and the existentialists, who don't need any half-assed "revival" to stay relevant in either academia or in the public sphere.

Schopenhauer is simply too elite to become a popular movement. The closest thing to it would be Wagnerism
